Would Chicago retain half to get rid of his contract

Hawks politely decline on Jeannot. Hawks aren’t hurting for what he brings, they are hurting for offense which he cannot bring.

My To early attempt at this
Hawks aren’t paying anything for Mikheyev. They would need to be compensated for taking him. Chatfield will have plenty of suitors in free agency, Nucks aren’t getting him for that little.

Keeping Stamkos and Duclair
I’m not saying that the Bolts would trade Cernak. But even if they did, Davidson is keeping maximum cap flexibility for 26-27, so he most likely wouldn’t be interested in Cernak’s contract.

Keeping Stamkos and Duclair
You and others seem to think Cernak is worth more than he is. Which is great if the rest of the league shares that opinion. He’ll be lucky to play another few years with how often he’s injured and he’s already brain dead on defense. It’s not the overall play so much as the frequency of costly mistakes. The other big issue is his cap hit. If he was at $3m or less I would’ve found someone else to move.
As far as stamkos, I just threw a number out there. He’ll retire when he retires. As for other roster players, I meant to shave enough from stamkos and duclair to fit lilleberg in.
IMO lilliberg and Raddysh are already better than Cernak.

Keeping Stamkos and Duclair
The idea of bringing back McDonagh is to fix how weak the defense was. Trading out Cernak just recreates that problem again, Especially since he is the only legitimate top 4 RD on the team.
Also 7 years at 6M for Stamkos is insane, he's 34.
Lastly a 20 man roster is not plausible

Canucks - Realistic
Getting a late 2nd round pick and flipping a 6th rounder back to Vancouver isn’t enough for taking on two seasons of Mikheyev at $4.75m per.

Finals Bound
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Garak</b></div><div>I don't hate it. Depends who is available in free agency. A lot of guys could be traded and/or extended before the draft. If our options are slim for addressing RD, a mid round pick for one year of Pionk wouldn't be a bad use of assets. Plus, he only has a 6 team no trade list and he is a pending UFA. Which means it shouldn't be hard to flip him at the deadline with retention. I think a lot of the UFA RD targets this summer will have their pick of teams, and a rebuilding CHI team won't be one of them, and Pionk is still probably better than what will be left to choose from.</div></div>

Agree with both of you here. I don't hate the Pionk move if they make it but I'd like someone like Perbix more if the price is similar.

Davidson doesn't strike me as the type to trade down. They've got a plethora of picks and would rather have quality instead of quantity.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tugspiedman</b></div><div>That should get it done for Chicago. With our focus on speed, I think Mikheyev could fit in well with our system and level up our bottom 6.
Maybe another team will take Mikheyev for just the 2nd, but since we're not starving for 2nd round picks or bottom 6ers, I think the 2nd+ should be our ask. Nice job on the value.</div></div>
More than enough IMO. I’m not gonna complain though.
