Hawks do that, they take on 5 mil for still a pretty good player and move up from 20 to 11 seems like a win to me.

I agree it'll most likely take a first. I was hesitant to put a first because we haven't seen Davidson make a buying move yet.

Hate to break it to you, but Seth Jones has been a very good defenseman for over 3 years now (since his last year in Columbus). He is overpaid, but only by about 1 million. He is easily a 8-8.5 million player and the advanced analytics prove that as well.

Chicago has no reason to be moving their own second (basically a late first) for a goalie who struggles to stay on the ice. They already have Commesso and Gajan in the system and are more then comfortable with mrazek for the next two years.

I'm a hawks fan so I really want to but there are some really good young players that I would be keeping him over (Hagel, Tippett). Really tough call.

Thanks for joining in. This is also a very good team. Great use of tarasenko and Hanifin's retained contracts.

just a few notes; I don't think any teams pays to take Miky. I also think Joshua and Toffoli get much more money then what you gave them. Joshua probably gets 2.5-3 mil and toffoli upwards of 7-8.

Yeah, as a hawks fan I definitely agree it'll take more from Frost. I think he is overestimating the "clash" between him and torts. And especially after Raddysh's down year, the 4th probably has to be another 2nd to even let Philly consider this. maybe a mid tier prospect gets added to get it through.

Possible TDL Moves
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tkecanuck341</b></div><div>Talbot is playing exceptionally well. The Kings just need a reliable backup, and they're not about to pay a 2nd (and definitely not a 1st) for a rental backup goaltender.
Make it a 3rd that turns into a 2nd if Mrazek plays a majority of games, and the Kings might consider it.</div></div>
That's fair, I think if the pick was moved to a 3rd, either the retention would be less or the condition would be much easier to hit.

yeah that was the debate in my head, although I do see Perry as someone whos more willing to move on, thats why I have him getting traded and not Foligno.

Possible TDL Moves
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Garak</b></div><div>In a vacuum, the Perry trade is probably fine. But, when you consider CHI's position right now, burning one of their last two retention slots for a 3rd round pick makes no sense. Unless, of course, it is last minute and they have the retention slot to spare with no other more lucrative trades in the works that would require retention.
The Mrazek trade is fine, though.</div></div>
Yeah i get that, I think they only trade perry if they retain because the cap hit is so large. Maybe this means they get a 2nd back instead but if these are the only two trades they make (which it wont be) i can see the retention making sense.

The Nylander problem
I may be the only one who thinks this but I think Seattle says no. There's reason to make that trade. Why rush the "Rebuild" and trade your 19 year old center for someone whose in their prime. I understand Wright could end up not being as good as Nylander but the positional value and the contract they'd have to give to Nylander doesn't make it worth it in my eyes. Yes, if they make this move, their window is closer, but I also think it shortens it as Nylander is so much older. (Not a Seattle fan btw)

He's has been a consistently dependable 3rd/4th Line C that can lead your PK, will get you 20-30 pts a year, will block 60+ shots a year, and, has a career 50%+ FO%. I'll admit $3.5M is higher than you'd like him at, but he signed that extension in the year that guys with high FO% got stupid money. You don't just have guys sitting in the AHL that can give you that. He's worth the 5th. Ryan Reaves get traded for a 5th....</div></div>
if he's worth a 5th like you said, he's not going to the hawks. The reason I say cap dump is because Dallas needs to shed his cap, not that he isn't a good player. If you believe he's worth a 5th round pick or more, it's to another team.

I like Compher way more then AA. He brings a lot more to the table and we've already seen what AA brings, why not try someone else. But yeah I get your concern over the cap and term but you have to do that to pull someone away from contenders (even though he's a hometown kid)
