Chicago Blackhawks signed Zachary Sanford (1 Year / $775,000 AAV)
He'll very likely stay in Rockford, but he can be a good mentor for the kids. Maybe bring him up if you need someone in a pinch.

Good deal if only to add one extra roadblock before they would have to call up Seney and Philp again

Man that Jeannot trade, remember that? What a disaster. Oh well, every team has them.
I'm guessing CHI would take these guys off TB's hands but isn't really going to pay much for the privilege.

Yeah. And even then, I think CHI could do better if they are serious about icing a better team next season.

This is a great example of signing a bunch of guys just to sign a bunch of guys. $30m for Matt Duchene, really puts a team over the top right.

Hmmmm... Do you have a link to this proposal from a CHI fan so I can yell at them? haha. Just playin, but I don't think CHI would actually be interested in that deal.

UP AND DOWN
Chicago might do this if there is someone they really like at 15. Holl would be fine as a 5/6 right shot, on a rebuilding team with limited right shots on the back end.
RD is a weakness but they have a bunch of lefties in the AHL ready to make the jump. 5 spots isn’t that big of a jump but this is an idea that could work for both sides. If there is a name they like at 15 I could see this being a draft day trade.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wz92</b></div><div>Your analysis is off.
Jones was vilified in Chicago not long ago because he hasn't been playing up to his contract. He isn't even worth 7.5. this trade makes plenty of sense.
To say Chicago laughs and hangs up is such a weird response. you're a nobody. Who are you to act like you know what they're gonna do? You think your a bowman? Lol c'mon man
Relax on the aggressiveness, it's not like the trade was offensive. You get a top 10 player in the league and he goes to market thats smaller than Toronto. You also get a first round pick defenseman that by no means has been a bust.
And like buddy said- any trade Mitch does comes with an extension. They don't have to make it clear. Mitch has a no move. He's only going to approve a trade if he wants to sign. There long term...</div></div>
Most of the naysayers about Jones were not CHI fans or on the CHI beat, most of that talk came from the outside. There are only a small and loud group of CHI fans who would agree. The problem was never Jones, it was Stan Bowman, and he is gone.

LMAO such a terrible take to say he's the worst contract in the NHL...and at $7.5M he's market value not top 5 worst

Perfect Draft Partner
LOL at Sens fans NOT doing this IMMEDIATELY. That Hawks '25 first is lottery and best case scenerio in the 5-10 range. Hawks are WAY more likely to be picking in the top 5 than they are out side the top 10.
Hawks never consider this. Fair value for #10 OA would be #20OA + #34OA with a small kicker like #62 which would still be an overpay on most pick value charts.
AND for giggles...the '25 draft appears to be much closer to last years in terms of the quantity of quality in the top dozen or so picks.

Chicago Blackhawks signed Lukas Reichel (2 Years / $1,200,000 AAV)
Was wondering if he'd push for a one year deal. Nice to see the 2 year deal, less pressure on Reichel to perform this year and gives the Hawks more time to figure out what exactly they have in Reichel

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gavinray</b></div><div>I assume the Hawks want to be worse next season - you won't be tanking? Theres no way you guys can compete next season</div></div>
Incorrect. GM Kyle from Chicago said in his end of season presser another season in the bottom 3 of the league isn't acceptable. The tank is over. Hawks are on to phase 2 of the rebuild. They are looking for improved results from here on. No, they won't make the playoffs, but 30 wins and 70 points is a likely goal.

Reichel Contract
I mean he definitely hasn't earned the 2.1M that you have here. We have all the cap space so it doesn't really matter, but just going based on what he's proven to be worth i'd say 1 year 950k. Gives him the chance to proves he's a full time contributing NHL'er.

Reichel Contract
If Davidson could get Reichel for 8 years with an AAV of $3MM, he should be arrested for robbery as that would be a better deal than Vlasic got. Short term though, I agree with 2-years at $1MM-$1.5MM. Showed some great flashes but still has a lot to prove.

He already has some of the best defensive numbers out of all the dmen in the league. So not sure what about that screams '3rd Pair'.....

Solid contract, look at players like John Marino, Mikey Anderson, Mattias Samuelsson, etc who've signed this type of deal, Chicago has all the cap space and once they start competing getting Vlasic at 4.6 will be huge
