TOR was scared to play Liliegren during the playoffs ... now you think he's worth two second round picks?

You want to put Miro in? You're kidding right? Carberry has to put five guys on the ice. He's trying to protect the rookies the best he can. Iorio played for like two mins and possibly broke his collarbone and you want to throw Miro in there?

Probably not
Ducks fans have lost their mind with Zegras. No, he is not worth two first round picks, a first round pick and a prospect, or any sort of bundle you can come up with. Zegras is comparable to Liane, great talent but you cannot build a team around him. Ducks are better off swapping Zegras in a one-for-one deal.

Not gonna lie, this is not all that bad. HOWEVER, JT should me moved to 4th line center and the caps should ask for draft picks, a prospect, or Liljegren instead of Kampf. If TOR bombs in the playoffs and JT underperforms, this is a low-key savvy move.

Why would TOR make the move anyway? The draft is light.

Overpaid for Broberg. Just Dowd would work. The PHI and COL trades don't make sense. Why add two young centers when caps already have Lap and CMM (plus more center depth in Hershey)? Keep Bear, he'll be better next year. DO NOT move Cristall, absolute steal.

Fair, but WSH would let him walk. If i were S.C., Forbort would not see the ice in a caps uniform. All signs point to the caps selling everything that isn't nailed down and giving the younger players a solid 20 game look through the end of the year.

I think a 3rd or 4th would be fair. I wouldn't mind seeing a package with him and Pacioretty either.</div></div>
Not sure what you mean. You're asking WSH to give up a player you deem to be valuable for significantly less than what WSH paid to get the player. And you also are asking WSH to take a player to make the cap work on your end. Seems like a lot for a 5th round pick two years from now ...

You're probably off a bit. Caps traded a 3rd and a 7th to get Edmundson, I'd expect they would want the same return, maybe more, especially if you want WSH to eat the Forbort contract.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mvp13</b></div><div>Lindgren signed for that amazing contract, playing the way he has been playing, is only worth a 2nd and 3rd... but you Crapitals fans continue to believe Dowd is worth a 1st? I can't wait to see the look on ya'lls faces when he goes for a 3rd or a 2nd...</div></div>
You clearly do not understand the market nor basic supply and demand concepts. There only are a few teams looking for goalies (mainly, NJ, CAR, and maybe EDM and COL) but several teams have goalies to move (mainly, BOS, MTL, WSH, CAL, NSH, SJ, CBJ, and ANH). Thus, the return WSH could get for Lindgren is limited, even though he has a great contract and is playing well. Dowd, on the other hand, is arguably the best 4th line center in the league, a great penalty killer, and also has an affordable contract. Almost EVERY playoff team or playoff buddle team could use Dowd's services. Thus, at least at this point in time, Dowd is a more valuable trade asset.

Glass houses my friend - EDM has had the #1 overall selection 4 of the last 13 years. Over that same period, EDM has made the playoffs 5 times and the Conference final once. In the last 13 years, Caps have had zero #1 overall selections but made the playoffs 11 times and won a cup in 2018.

Nope, you just lack the appropriate draft capital to acquire a much-needed player for a deep playoff run. Let me know how things turn out against VGK.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sprak</b></div><div>Chase Stillman is a huge bust, why is he even part of the deal</div></div>
Simple: (1) getting Jensen off the roster and off the ice is a net positive; (2) getting Jensen's salary off the books without any retention is a net positive; (3) NJ is desperate for D; and (4) caps have a positive reclamation project history (see Strome, Milano, and Sandin). In fact, I'd like the caps to target Roberston, Kaliyev, and Broberg as fringe players on playoff teams who could thrive with more opportunity in DC.

You'll need more to get Mantha ... he's on pace for nearly 30 goals (28) this season. My guess is VGK Western rivals (VAN, EDM, DAL, Jets) will pay more for scoring depth.

Jeez ... I'm starting to pity BUF fans. First, on paper, this deal favors the caps by a large margin (and I love Carlson). Second, the trade won't happen, Carlson is too integral to the caps (team, leadership, fanbase, etc.). Third, this offer just goes to show how desperate BUF fans are to get back to the playoffs. BUF is stuck in a perpetual rebuild with no end in sight. I would expect the coach and GM to be out at the end of the 23-24 or more likely 24-25 if BUF does not make the playoffs. It's just sad at this point.

He'd play better in sheltered minutes and a different system. His biggest issue is his contract does not match his play. He'd be a great in a 5/6 role at $2 mil per.

You had me all the way to the Mittelstadt trade. Mittelstadt is undersized and overrated and should be avoided at all costs. BUF looking to cash in while the iron is hot.
