rodden said it best. He has a solid chance to surpas Beleskey down the line, or hell, he could even be slotted into that top 6 spot, day one.
We get it. You're a buffalo fan and are probably upset he opted to test the market regardless. This is a two team race. Bruins or Maple Leafs. vesey will go where he feels is his best fit, but Boston gives him a solid chance to start off with spooner and then play with an elite center.</i></div></div>
Not really upset I think we have a great chance who knows.....however I don't see him signing with a team unless they agree he's a top 6 player who deserves powerplay time right from the start.
Also how do you know its only between those two teams? Do you have any proof? I'm sure they're other teams like Pittsburgh and Chicago that he'd consider. He's also agreed to meet with Buffalo this week. I'm curious where you heard it's down to two????

No chance Vesey would sign on to be a 4th liner with all the other choices he has with different teams

I'd do this trade, Kane is a bit of a head case but also the best player in the deal

Well cap hit is good for a player on the younger side who is a multiple 20 point scorer. Not every team makes this trade but new jersey might.

Marchand is an elite winger despite people hating on him. Trouba is a top 4 right now but not top 2. Connor has potential but he's not played an NHL game. I would say it's pretty close.
Also I'd be looking more at his Spooner for Brodin as the one that's no where near. Brodin is legit and Spooner is a 3rd line center.</i></div></div>
Kyle connor has way more value than McQuaid not even playing in the nhl, he was a 1st rounder....McQuaid is a bottom pair d man that is way overpaid.
Marchand great top 6 guy but he has one year left and is going to want 7mil next season. They'll need to give up more for a potential top pair d man like Trouba + connor

His rights were traded to the Sabres. Until he signs on the dotted line, he isn't a Sabre. His agent also came out and said that he will still wait until UFA to decide so your team, thus far, wasted a 3rd round pick.</i></div></div>
Better than wasting it on zac rinaldo! Hahaha
Also the agent's quotes don't mean much, I don't believe there's nothing there to contract talks....all for show</i></div></div>
Bruins made up for it by taking Jesse Gabrielle in the 4th round so who cares. You don't believe his agent? Of course you don't lol, you obviously want Vesey to sign there, so why would you think there's 'nothing there'. Like I said before, until he signs on the dotted line, his rights to Buffalo mean nothing.</i></div></div>
Agreed...it's a bit of a wierd trade considering every team can offer him the same max of $925k so either:
a) Buffalo has a good idea that he's willing to sign there; or
b) Buffalo thinks they're not on his radar and want the chance to convince him of their plan and his role in it
I gotta imagine he has his mind made up already and if it's Boston he wants, then Buffalo getting his rights now means diddly squat</i></div></div>
Well said. His rights getting traded to Buffalo mean that they can talk to his agent without tampering. It means nothing. He could want Toronto, or Boston, or Pittsburgh. You bring up a great point. Every team can offer him the same...His agent came out and said he wants to reach F/A still. It's not like he's using this as a ploy to get more money. Why would he come public with anything? I think Vesey is going to want to sit down with his top choices and figure out what is best for him. That's why he's waiting.
There's still a very good chance he ends up in Boston, or Toronto, or anywhere else.</i></div></div>
It's the right trade to make if you want to make your team better. Obviously Buf heard something from the Vesey camp, he's been playing with Eichel for the last month + both have the same agent. I wouldn't act as though it's set in stone because the agent said he's still going to FA one hour after the trade happened. He obviously has to say that stuff don't want to look like anybodys tampering.

No way stamkos signs for only 8.5mil especially having to be a Canadian resident he'll be losing out on money. They'd have to go over 1.5mil compared to other teams offers to split even with his take home cost. Taxes suck

Anaheim is going for it this year and fowler hasn't had his best season so his value is down. The biggest reason they could move him is they need to sign lindholm and vatanen this off season as rfas. Bring in shea Theodore to replace fowler for playoff run
