Marner Pulock
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kyle_Okposo_Lover</b></div><div>Unless Marner were to extend for 10 or so mil, not a chance. He isn't worth 12 million, let alone the 13 or so he's probably gonna get</div></div>
If the islanders are the only team close to contending out of all the offers then he might sign for 10.5 for the isles

Marner Pulock
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>And in July next year, when Marner walks, instead of having 5 more seasons of Ryan Pulock and the beginning of the career of the guy you could have drafted at #18 overall this June, you have nothing other than your record next season.
Does that seem like a good strategic plan?
Try $12 million plus on his extension -- <strong>IF</strong> he wants to stay on the Island.</div></div>
Is this the smartest decision no, it has tons of risk but if Lou is wanting this team to contend and is willing drive the train off the tracks why not when offense is the number one priority.

Even A Consideration
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nightowl26</b></div><div>A very interesting trade but I don't think the isles do it for a few reasons.
How do we replace a young scoring defenseman who is putting up 70-80 pts a year? If we have a plan for that, then I'd probably do it. But it's probably easier to replace a scoring forward then a top scoring D-man.</div></div>
I am just looking to see if it is fair value excluding the needs of each team

He is if he can score over 30 goals and put up over 80pt seasons and is a playoff monster which he has proven to be look at an average goals to games in each series ratio, you see what I am talking about

You do understand the ppg is not weighted he scores far more goals than any one else on team, goals being more valued in my model

Why would you trade Nylander, he is the only one that consistently produces in the playoffs

Perfetti because the islanders have to find youth and one winger is not going to effect their odds of contention

They are playing Jonny Brodzinski at 3C, who is he? This allows them to slot Pageau at 3C who can play on the PK. Move Cytle next year to 3rd line wing. This also make Goodrow more expendable.

They need to trade Marner they can not win without that, they don't have the prospect pool to support these high contracts. Toronto is just trying to maintain the ticket sales..

For goalies that are at top bracket which are only a hand few I would and I do include Demko. I think you have to judge a goalie consistently at every league and level he has been in to warrant a long term contract.
