Lagesson is being asked to take on more responsibility with the injuries piling up on the Leafs blue line early in the season.
Historically he has provided some secondary / depth offense. He's capable with the puck and has the agility to find lanes in the offensive zone to direct pucks on net. He had a breakout year at the AHL level last season playing for the Chicago Wolves.
Monitor how he adjusts to the speed of the NHL game. He's competing to take away time and space defensively but there are times he's losing his 'angle / positioning' on opponents.
Lagesson has good size but he isn't punishing physically. He uses his reach / length to interrupt plays.
It's not likely he will bring much offense at the NHL level.
Monitor his ability to keep things simple and execute defensively.
