Johannson was signed as a backup by the Bolts but has been thrust into the starting role with Vasilevsky being out with injury / back surgery to start the season.
All things considered, Johannson has done a nice job. His performance vs the Toronto Maple was average at best, but his body of work overall has been solid.
Big body. Huge in the net. Butterfly style. Relies on sound positioning / squaring up. Not overly athletic. Doesn't track exceptionally well from side to side. Average feet. Gloves are also average. At the end of the day he can manage backup duty but isn't a #1 at the NHL level.
Through his first 10GP he posted 3.17 GAA and .907 save %
