Love the DAL trade, they've got several appealing young 3rd line center options and I really like Johns, imagine a shutdown pair consisting of Hunwick/Cole-Johns. Would love to try and keep Sheary though and trade Jarry over Gustavsson. Maybe DAL choice of Wilson/Kuhnhakl/Archibald, a 1st, and Jarry?

Don't see Dallas moving Faksa and Johns for 3 (at best) 3rd line guys even if Jarry is included. Gotta give to get. Also as good as Murray has been, he seems to be a bit injury prone so moving Jarry worries me. Cole and Johns would be the ideal shut-down pairing for them.

Sorry, just re-read that, Sheary would have to be involved. They need top 6 wingers and non of Wilson, TK or Archy are that.

The signings are the only good part about this except Mitchell could've gone a bit cheaper. Why would Pittsburgh trade a former high first round pick with such a small NHL sample size (still lots of potential) for a third round pick. Sheary played great last year, was on pace for a 71 point season. And it was not just because of Crosby. I guess you all forgot injuries forced Sheary to play more minutes, he had to earn it. Hornqvist and Kessel are also right wing and they had priority because they're veterans but then injuries happened. So why would a 1st liner** be traded for 4th liner** with a few extra AHLers in the mix form either team.

Why not package Pouliot into the Dallas trade?
Pouliot, Wilson, Gustavson and a 4th for Faksa and Johns. Pens get a 3C and a right shot D for a puck moving D with potential (think how different Schultz is in a new system), a bottom 6 wing which they need, a future starter, and a pick.
