When the Cats signed Lundell for $5MM AAV, I knew they'd be out on Vladimir Tarasenko. While I love me some Tarasenko and appreciate his contributions to last week’s Stanley Cup victory, I couldn't be happier that the Panthers re-signed Anton Lundell (aka Baby Barkov) for 6x$5MM rather than breaking the bank for Vlad.

As usual, Zito makes all the right moves.

This will change with Johansson, Berggren, and some other rookies in the lineup. Stevie is not signing free agents to get better at this point. There are 11 forwards on the roster so I presume at least a few young players are being moved up.

uhhhhhhhhhh i don't hate this signing for detroit. he's a cup winning veteran that bolsters their scoring. they've got a pretty solid right side with him, kane and raymond.

his moves on defense are baffling but this is good.

Seems pretty redundant to sign both aging forwards Kane AND Tarasenko, but whatever

Can’t see DET doing too well next season. I really thought Yzerman would turn things around there, but he often makes weird signings & moves imo. The Chiarot’s, Maata’s, Holl’s, Perry’s, Perron’s, Kane’s and Tarasenko’s are well past their primes and are all quickly declining

I know about Kane.

I wanted to point out that while most teams have their teams mostly done (have 12 F, 6 D and 2 G), Detroit on the other hand had like 9 forwards... With app. 20 M in cap space, one would assume Yzerman will be more active

absolutely unable to sign Crosby a winger. Period.

He better find some magical trade otherwise he won't make it to the end of the year. He's not the right guy to lead this team forward.

Yeah I like Karlsson, for real he's great, but he did nothing at the deadline last year but move Jake w/o getting a first round pick, the depth he signed last summer didn't work at all, he doubled down on Sullivan even though he also sucks, and this was a good FA class for sure and he comes away with scrap pieces who are bums and didn't move Jarry or Graves or sign any help up top on the Ws or sign one of the LEGIT GOOD defensive D guys out there.

Look at the pieces that were added in Wsh, NJ, Toronto... even the Islanders got Duclair!!!

I wanted Marchessault the most, once I realized Vegas was about to blow it and let him leave...but you know... we just didn't have the cap space! Cause Jarry and Graves combine to over 10M in dead weight that we'd rather move!

But ya know, we also, apparently, JUST DIDN'T HAVE THE CAP SPACE to sign Vlad because... Kyle wanted to lock up gryz, lizotte, and anthony beavillier first....

Dude give Vlad the money you gave all of them, and then the money he got from detroit, and get him the first day of FA he would help the team way more than all of them combined

play our random young guys even! How're you gonna trade Smith for draft picks then not replace him with a legit top 6 option??? We needed a top 6 W before you traded Smith!

Ok I'm done ranting sorry yo. I <3 Vlad i'd of given him 10M a yr for 2 before I signed any of those bums...

Funny that a 16-year-old Seider would've probably been the best dman for us in '17.
