I know his career hasn’t gone exactly the way people expected but this is just a bad trade for Seattle it’s a bunch of meh for a former 4th overall pick who’s only 20 years old

Wright could be seen as the best NHL player in this deal right now, let alone in the future. There is zero chance Seattle even thinks about trading a guy whose a middle six center now and on a trajectory to be a top six guy at minimum for a bulk package that doesn't really come anywhere close to his value. I like Niemelä and Robertson as players, but the Kraken have prospects like them in their system already, whereas they don't really have anyone else like Wright. Trading him for more of what they already have makes zero sense for them.
