Pinto is currently worth a first and a third minimum.
Taking on Joel Armia 1/2 retained is a second.
Joseph is worth about a 3rd
Reinhart is worth about a 7th (but I doubt Ottawa is trading him, he is a decent depth bottom 6 guy on league min).

so 1 first, a second, 2 thirds, Joel Armia for Pinto & Joseph.

So I would go Reinbacher (for the overpay, other teams are interested, Senators don't need to sell), Florian Xhekaj (for the lols), a 2nd Rounder in 2025, Dvorak 1/2 retained (instead of Armia) for Pinto and Joseph and the Senators will throw in a 6th to be nice.

wait so i need to pay a second rounder to dump Armia at 1.7 million but Joseph at 3 million is worth a third?

The only reason to move Joseph for the Senators is to sign Pinto. If a team is trading for both of them, expect to pay for both.

Sens decline. Unless Montreal overpays (Which this isn’t, it’s an underpay) then we’ll never be trade partners.

No.

Ask yourself, why would a team move a certain player?

For Pinto, a reasonable explanation can be contract talks breaking down and the team can't afford what he is asking for. Therefore he gets shopped and any team that has a hole at middle 6 center and can afford to pay him $5-6M would be interested in acquiring him. That, IMO, is about 10 to 15 teams.

Why would the Senators move Joseph?

If it isn't to make room for Pinto, then the ONLY other reason is to improve their team.
The Senators are not rebuilding, they have no interest in acquiring picks, so any trade is dollar in dollar out.
So is Armia = Joseph? Not by a long shot, pay for the difference.

If Pinto, and removing the cap hit of Armia is your only priority, drop Joseph from the trade all together and you might be able to swing Reinbacher, Dvorak 1/2 retained for Pinto and pick outside of the top 100.

And that, is the definition of bitterness. A true homer. Hab hater.
Well, stay in your absolutely wonderful and exciting Ottawa.
Cheers. Keep your players - we're good. We'll wait for Demidov and Hage.

How is that a Hab hater? We are literal rivals and will be competing at the same time. Why would we help you help unless it's an overpay? You should know Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal all have to overpay each other.

If you're seeing it like this, then I agree. And that means it's from every side.

Which might be why ACGM trade proposals become very nasty when those 3 teams inter-mingle lol

Anyway, didn't want to start a fight

Did you read the first part of what you quoted?

The Senators literally moved Joseph, to sign Pinto.

Your original trade proposal had Pinto AND Joseph to the Habs.
If the Senators were moving Pinto, they had no reason to move Joseph.

Learn how cap economics work.
