Cotter delivers a lot of hits. Understandable, the Devils want more toughness in the lineup. But, they definitely could have gotten more in this deal. Roy or at least McNabb included would have made it better imo. Vegas won this 1 on paper atm.

I think this is something New Jersey needed to do as Holtz does not score enough for the top 6 but is not good enough defensively for the bottom 6 while Cotter is a good bottom 6 guy so positionally this makes sense. Schmid definitely regr4resses this past season so his worth was pretty low. 3rd picks are never a bad thing to have. So New Jersey wins in my opinion

I think it’s a fair trade, Schmid really struggled this year and might need a change of scenery, Holtz has potential but Cotter is a really solid bottom 6 helper and the 3rd is decent, Vegas certainly has the potential to win this if Schmid and Holtz hit their ceilings but I’d say fair for now
