Holy you can’t even offer the guy that built this franchise to what it is 4-5 mil when he’s easily a 6-7 mil player is ridiculous to me. Who cares about the term they are offering 8 years anyway what’s the extra 1mil when the guy will be retired within this contract. JBB is and continues to be a absolute mess in that front office.

Chicago declines...I would lean towards declining that even if it was FC instead of a second.

Clearly you haven’t been paying any attention around the NHL

If you give him a contract with a $5M salary in the first 4 years that drops off gradually to $2.5M in the final years, I could see how this could work.

Stamkos goes on LTIR or retires at age 39 and the last 3 years are off the books.

8 years league minimum.

Typical CFACGM Tampa fan offer.

Which one of you guys is JBB? 😆

Brisebois was offering 3M over a long term deal. Basically Killorn. Apparently Stamkos' camp wants 4-5 depending on the term which doesn't even seem that bad when you think about it. Brisebois needs to stop being a shrewd negotiator and just pay the man what he wants before this whole thing derails the team for next season

They aren't worried about the later years, they are worried about their cup window now and being able to keep the AAV down enough to be able to keep the player.

3 yrs 8m AAV = 24m contract
8 yrs 3m AAV = 24m contract

Matching total compensation while being able to fit the player under the cap.
