That trade is......uh.......no.


Also, I will throw up if I ever have to see Chicago paying Erik Gustafsson $2.5m/yr.

If Marner was willing to sign that extension, I'd make that trade leaving Tavaras out of it. No interest in paying him his full $7.9m this season or extending him. And I agree. No thanks on Gus!!

Only thing I don't like about the Mikheyev/Lafferty trade is that it's a '27 2nd. The only way that pick helps the rebuild is if the Hawks trade it for an established player. But if Mikheyev is healthy and the Hawks sign Laff that's two solid players added to the forward group who were sorely needed.

Chicago has 12 total picks in the first two rounds of the next three drafts so it makes sense to push it back to '27.
