Cant wait for friday - realistic take for the habs

Created by: Ahro
Team: 2024-25 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 26, 2024
Published: Jun. 26, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
It's realistically the only move I think the Habs have a chance at doing. The return might be wrong, but I could see the habs being really interested and okay with overpaying to beat out the competition.

I chose Barron here but there's also Harris, Strubble, and Xhekaj. Winnipeg can chose among their preferred NHL ready young and cheap dman from the habs.

Same for the prospect going back, I think Winnipeg is bound to find a prospect they like in the Habs pipeline.

Then you add the pick and I think it's probably done deal.

If Winnipeg really value him more than that, then sign him and play him lol...

For defence, idk how to have this make sense with Guhle at LD at the moment, so he has to stay RD I think, as much as I hate it.

Additional Details:
Based on a rumour I saw online that a package around Barron might be enough.

I think Barron + 26th OA + one of Mesar/Beck/Kapanen should do it.

Do you have a source for your rumour? Also can't see any of those 3 being moved but if they were I'd move Kapanen, though he was literally just signed so not likely.

i expect winnipeg will trade him eotehr one on one for either a high pick like the devil or philly, or a prospect like Rossi.

I think the habs have also a shot at Necas too this summer.

This is something the jets would have to consider, I wonder though if Chevy would target Wifi, he has potential to be our Byfuglien 2.0, Stanley failed at that.

Reddit lol. Absolutely no credibility in this being discussed or anything. I just thought it would be interesting to do an AGM based on the idea.

I can't see Winnipeg being interested. It's a late first, they can get Barron on waivers at the beginning of the year and Mesar is okay.

I think they go for a better pick or better prospect.

Uh Barron is not getting waived? If he's not traded he's playing on our top 6 for sure.

Okay, well he wasn't able to crack Montreal's lineup regularly last year and wouldn't crack Winnipeg's starting 6. So, then the Jets would lose him on waivers. Meaning he adds like a 3rd or 4th in value, so not much.

Why do you think the Habs would need to give up 3 1st rounders for 1 1st rounder that by the looks of it does not want to join the Wpg organization?
This is either a hockey trade (1:1 highish-end prospect) or maybe a couple of picks

I mean he played 48 games in the NHL last year, that's 6th most among Habs defensemen. Our defense moved around a lot because we have a bunch of young guys and the team gave multiple chances to different guys. He's 22 (23 in November), 6'2, posted 13 points in 48 games with essentially no PP time, and was a -3 on a -53 team lol. I'm not saying he's god, or even that the Jets would absolutely want him, but he's not getting waived lol. You are clearly underestimating his value.

Look at it this way, those guys would not garner a 1st round pick back on their own today. It's more like two mid 2nd round pick + a late first for a top 15 pick.

Figures. That is too much. I could see Jersey trade the 10th pick if they can get McGroarty signed. Highly unlikely he goes to a Canadian team when he can write his own ticket.

lol like Barron actually goes on waivers and the Jets waiver priority would grab him. Your delusion really shows here that you can think other teams wouldnt claim him. Tunnel vision, much?
