YOur not getting a first for him stop this. Why do the Devils wanted to get keep youth and inexperience? they are clearly going all in this year.

Not saying NJ should make this deal, but arguably, they are getting older and perhaps more NHL ready by acquiring McGroarty over whom might be available at 10 OA! LOL

And perhaps adding him makes another prospect more expendable that can be used as a piece to strengthen the team immediately. Chess not checkers

Don't see Jets getting #10 for McGroarty at this point in time.
They simply do not have the leverage to make that happen.

And how did the last time the jets "didn't" have leverage in a trade?

False equivalency. Tom Fitzgerald has at least 30IQ points on Rob Blake.

Fair but i feel like everyone thinks jets will get nothing but Chevy is an amazing gm when everyone doubts him, even jets fans.

I like Chevy a lot. Amazing GM and hella underrated.
As is Tom Fitzgerald.

Do you have McGroarty's value as marginally better than 10OA? Looks like it because of the late round pick swap. If so, maybe go for CGY or SEA pick instead, as he'd get playing time there too.

He has the hardest job in the nhl and constantly pulls stuff off that I doubt many others could do in his spot (Hellebuyck and scheifele extensions, Dubois trade, copp trade, extensions for key players Morrissey and connor contracts)

I will not be surprised if he can get a pick from 10-15 range as all it would do is help a team advance 2 years down the line for the player to make an impact. Mcgroaty could play nhl now, say pick 10 takes 2 years helps a team with a elc impact sooner.

I have it equal to pick 10 currently but the pick swap is me being optimistic that maybe something ever so slightly more.

Thing is that the Devils do not /need/ McGroarty and his ELC in the lineup right now. Their cap sheet is in a rather healthy state.
I made a trade for McGroartyhere, with no intention of putting him in the lineup for the 24-25 season.

The deal you have isn't bad but I feel like the jets would want marino instead of Siegenthaler as he has trade protection. Id do that deal with that swap and remove the 2nd and 3rd part.

Deal would be boston 1st, Marino and stillman for mcgroaty?

No can do, cannot get that Boston 1st without sending Marino to the Senators.
You will have to 'make do' with Siegenthaler hehe.

Don't think it would work around that type of deal as the jets top 4 lhd are set with Morrissey and Samberg. I would add something to mcgroaty for pick 10 but not something massive. What would NJ want on top of mcgroaty that would make it work for both?

Maybe mcgroaty and 37 for pick 10 and something else?

*hits blunt*

Devils: McGroarty + Ehlers
Jets: Holtz + #10

Honestly, think Ehlers is the only realistic piece that would make sense for the Devils to have the Jets add to the deal.
But that means that Devils has to add something to cover the difference between Ehlers + McGroarty and #10.
Holtz probably achieves that, no?

I think that the jets would want a ehlers and mcgroaty trade for 10 and marino. Jets need a top 4 rhd for ehlers and the best pick for mcgroaty
