Laughable return.. habs giving a blue chip defenceman and 5th OA.. i love Holtz, but these are 2 pieces i dont move for him. Harris, WPG 1st, Calgary 1st, 2025 1st, Barron, Mailloux, sure. Not Ghule and not 5Th OA

The Montreal Canadiens want Alexander Holtz badly. Believe me when I tell you that. They’re not trading Nick Suzuki and they’re not trading Cole Caufield. I don’t know how much they’d be willing to give up, but they have some assets that are in play. I’m talking about defenceman Kaiden Ghule, I’m talking about defenceman David Reinbacher, I am talking forward Kirby Dach. They want Alexander Holtz and they want him badly. It won’t be a ‘one-vs-one’ deal. They will spice it up by throwing in other players or top picks, but I can tell you right now, based on what I’m hearing, that Kent Hughes wants Holtz BADLY.”

So many of the trade proposals between Montréal and New Jersey are laughably one-sided in favor of the Canadiens. This went the other way in a surprising manner.

Marinaro is an idiot, whether he said that or not. Hughes is not so stupid. If we're giving that up, Jack Hughes had better be the return. I wouldn't give up the 26 for Holtz at his point. He's proven nothing yet at the NHL level. It's a bit too early to say for sure, but Holtz could bust. He does still have potential, and on this site he's being thrown in to every Devils trade like he's nothing, and he's not, as the Devils still value him enough to have kept him around, but he was never worth this. He never had the potential to be worth this.

So...this has got to be satire.
