What a steal, I thought he could've got twice that salary. Guess he's betting on himself, so two years instead of one is interesting.

Great for CLB to get 2 years. Saving one year of arbitration on a player who looks like he's going to explode offensively.

This is an amazing deal. Chinakhov is already playing better than this cap hit and he's still an RFA at the end of it. Just perfect.

CBJ has so much good young talent. They are going to have to start shipping off those older player contracts out to not only make room but save cap.
There is enough young support cast talent on this team, they need to land a FP in next years draft to make them a real contender.
The whole team is just primed at this point to be a top hockey team if they can land that 1 guy.

This could end up costing them more in the long run, but I like the short term to make sure he can show some consistency over multiple years before they lock him up long term.
