How does a team go from missing playoffs to cup contenders🤨?

Josh, they need a C to replace RC, and it's the one thing we don't have have to offer. Nothing anything we'd consider anyway. From what I am reading its also about cap so a cheap C. Any thoughts? How about a deal with Philly for Frost (C) and then bouncing him to Avs. I think he's about half the cost. What do we have that Philly wants? Dont forget the in-division "tax"

Personally, I'm a huge fan in favor of bringing back Tatar and also keeping Smith around: both on 1-year deals. I think both those guys have stuff left in the tank and would be great in a "scratch" role to provide rest opportunities to players across the team.

I think a conversation could possibly be had if NJ acquired Frost somehow. This is the biggest thing everyone seems to miss when they propose a trade for Colton. They've got to replace him at 3C.

Thing is, Torts and Frost dont play well apparently. So its a couple of moves here.
-Bastian (pick your similar player, I chose him bc size and ya know Torts. Foote/Stillman/Graeme? IDK) and a pick to Philly for Frost. Make it worth their while though.
-Flip Frost to Avs for Colton, 1 for 1.
-Similar seasons, Frost would do well in CO, $2M less solves the return CO needs.
-Jack gets a winger who takes FOs
