I'd say all of them nix the trades.

Still looking for a top 3 pick in 2025. I'd love to find a goalie of the future or a RHD PP QB but that does not seem in the card for this offseason
I thought about Smith from Pittsburgh or one of the STL d men (i think NTC wont allow that)
If Nashville resigns Saros then we should call on Askarov with our prospects and picks
Shedding 20M end of 2025 Sturm, Vanacek, Blackwood, Grandlund, Ceci, Schmidt
Shedding 27M end of 2026 Burns, Lee, Pageau, Vlasic

All these team are under Cap pressure and need to move out dead cap. these are all playoff teams or teams that see themselves as playoff teams. chicago and SJ are really the only teams willing to take straight dumps this off season. Utah is trying to win. Ottawa, Montreal and Columbus see themselves as Playoff teams no matter how wrong that may be, Calgary lacks cap space. Ducks trying to take a leap in a weak pacific

While I like where the thinking is coming from, I just don’t see how the value adds up for the Sharks. They are taking on over $50M in cap relief and only adding a grand total of 2 top-60 picks, one of which they have to wait a year for. 3rd rounders are of limited value; go look up all the players the Sharks have drafted in the 3rd and how many NHL games they’ve played.

Other than catching a few good seasons from Lee I don’t see how either of the defense or offensive units are significantly better than if the Sharks stood pat. These moves do not make the team materially more competitive.

If Grier presented Hasso with a plan for him to spend $50M, to not get more competitive, but add a single late first and a mid/late second in ‘25 I’m pretty sure Hasso would tell him to look for another job.

The Jets aren't paying that much to take back so much bad cap

The idea of moving Schmidt is to clear cap space.
