That's a lot of work for the SCAM to pull off, but I like the way the roster looks minus Chiarot occupying a first pairing spot. Good work!

You have to know that Anaheim isn't taking that deal. The "payment" for the difference between Gibson and Husso as a cap dump and a 4th isn't getting the deal across the line by a long shot.

A dump? Ducks WANT to trade away Gibson. He has 3 years on the contract at 6.4mil per year. If they do that they will need a back-up to Dostal and Husso for 1 year at 4.75mil is a good choice that has some cap hit still (they need it too) So who is dumping here and who should be paying for it? As for Holl.. Not a dump either. He is a solid 2nd-3rd pair RT handed D-man with experience. Better then any of your waiver pick-ups or both 20yo D under contract. So this is a good trade for them. I'm sure Beeker and SY and figure out draft picks if any

LOL Yeah it sure is a LOT of work. That's Why SY gets the big bucks. Gotta clear out dead space and then get a D-man plus top 6 Winger. But it all starts with a goalie that is not a seeve or hurt half the season

Justin Holl is a decent 2nd pairing D? Is that why he spent half the year in the press box? He's not a good defenseman and worse he's a terrible fit in Detroit, He is absolutely a cap dump.

And Husso is a steep downgrade on Gibson.

Not sure where you're getting your Intel from, but we don't WANT to trade Gibson, we have no problem holding that contract until it's term is up.

Have to disagree on Holl. Just cause he didn't work out with the "genius" Lalonde does not make him a bad player. He was good in Toronto which why SY signed him in the 1st place and he still is solid D-man. I have no idea why Lalode scratched him. If anything should have scratched a giveaway machine Gost and "tank commander" Perty They are both HORRIBLE in their own zone. But I digress.
My info? They have been wanting to dump Gibson for 3-4 years now. Not a secret by any means. Ever since his game diminished. Besides, How much do you think a reclamation project goalie with his crappy numbers this year should be worth?
There is always other targets like Elvis in Columbus or Gus in Minnesota if you insist.

I do insist, go bug one of the other teams with your problem contracts. Your info about Anaheim is wrong, we haven't been looking to dump him for years. He was playing behind a system that didn't work with him under Tank Commander Eakins, and this year his 5v5 numbers were fine, he got killed on the PK because we were the most penalized team in the league by a wide margin. Gibson is still a very good goalie, that's why he's in trade rumors every year.

His numbers are fine? .888 save percentage and 3.54 goals against is "fine" ??? Then you'll LOVE Husso .892 SV% and 3.55 GAA. As for rumors...they don't pop-up without a reason and you can make any excuse you want but Gibby's game has suffered last couple of years and he is not a great goalie he was. He needs a change of scenery for rebound back so a reclamation project. Those don't bring much return usually so curb your appetite on the return.

Holl was not good in TOR. Nobody in TOR wanted him to stay, and everyone in the league knew the contract you guys signed him to was a huge overpay and a rare L by Yzerman.

And I have to echo Giggy. I’ve totally been on board with trading Gibby for the past ~2 years now. That said, at no point have I wanted to DUMP him. If we can get value back, let’s trade him, let him go compete, and get assets that will help us in our actual compete window. If not, the $6.4M isn’t hurting us, he’s a solid leader and mentor, and has been a good and pro on and off the ice. We’re totally happy to keep him. His contract won’t hurt us for 2 more seasons, and by then it’s the final year of his deal.
