Only reason Devils move Marino is if they take really bullish view on Famous Seamus…and get spooked by Marino NTC coming July 1st. Possible, but long-shot.

NJD is looking for goalies that rhyme with “memko”

Less than zero interest in moving Carlo unless its part of a package bringing back a bona fide 1C, and even then he would be missed as a shutdown 2nd pair at a really good cap hit

I could see them moving Weegs he is 30, frees up cap and allows them to tank better
Probably not to a division rival

Calgary isn't really competitive though are they. By the time they are Weegs will be on the downside anyway.

Heh. Where was Vancouver last spring? Or Winnipeg? Lots can change across seasons. Any way you slice it, most teams won't trade impact players to a rival.

And frankly, aside from Willander, who is presumably not available, Vancouver doesn't really have the ammo to trade for huge targets right now anyway.

TB didn't re-acquire McDonagh to trade Cernak they did so to pair them back together.

We at least had a base of young high end talent. Calgary needs to build that. And they lost obv like 3-4 key pieces last season.

I don't see it as a rivalry at this point. Not even saying the Canucks are that good. We're prob fighting for a playoff spot kinda team next yr. I just don't see how Calgary improves. I'd be open to moving off of long term deals and rebuilding. Talks of a Markstrom trade too.

That is true Canucks would have a tough time making a fair offer.

The Flames are listening in on Andersson but the ask right now is very high at a 1st++. Likely around a mid 1st + 2 x 2nds.

            Weegar isn't moving this season.

Carlo isnt getting moved unless ur giving up one of ur top Players and an elite prospect. Flames duo for sure isnt getting moved this offseason unless ur giving up 2 1sts + something. Cerenak isnt getting moved at all. Marino could be available tbh is NMC coming up could scare NJ into listening and he wouldnt cost a ton hes a solid 2/3RD but there swimming in D talent.

wouldn't add anything. Miller is 31 and signed forever. the contracts make up any difference in on ice value.

in other words: Carlo unavailable in any realistic trade scenario

For Tampa, I would be willing to trade Cernak but, I would be looking for a young player with an high celling or a top 15 pick. I would not be looking at a package of players.

Would Vancouvers first (2025), 2026 second, and Raty + maybe a smaller piece get it done?

Not quite the same thing, though, is it? Those guys were UFAs about to be out the door, not locked down for years like Weegar. And dare I say they got an overpay for a struggling Lindholm.

Would Vancouvers first (2025), 2026 second, and Raty + maybe a smaller piece get it done?

Honestly, I have no idea. If that's all we got I would be slightly upset with the return, but could also understand it if the team was really high on Raty.

If it was up to me I would shop Andersson a bit more. Maybe dangle a 50% retention to go with his already great contract, in an attempt to get a package with a top 15 pick/top prospect + other assets.
