Solid target I would love for MTL to acquire.

I get the sense that BUF mgmt will be under the gun to put its rebuild in the past and make the playoffs this year. For that reason, I don’t see them being interested in futures but rather guys that can help them make the post season now.

Does MTL have any such players that they are willing to dangle? Perhaps Matheson, but idk if BUF would be game. Sometimes the pressure to make the playoffs can skew a GMs behaviour—see OTT in recent years.

For me, that would be moving up to take lindstrom at 5, and getting pick 26 at the cost of quinn and 11oa. As much as I'd like lindstrom, that's too much. Better to trade 11oa for somebody that fills a need and fits the timeline better.

Why would Montreal offer that?

Sabres left d- dahlin, power, Byram, Samuelsson, ryan johnson. Sabres don't need left shot d.

Because they probably have picks 5-15 as being interchangeable, and they can steal Quinn from us while getting one of those interchangeable players at 11oa instead of 5oa.

Buffalo has absolutely no interest in moving quinn for futures lol. Why would we?

Something like Quinn, Peterka and pain 11 for tkachuk would make sense. You guys don't have BT, nor any player that would make sense moving quinn for.

Well, there you go. Then it would need to be some kind of scheme whereby BUF acquires our 5th OA with the intention of flipping it for an established player to help them make the playoffs. Given MTLs current state of rebuild, such a move would not be advisable, unless there’s an outlier deemed so underrated that MTL is convinced he will be available @ 11th OA.

Sabres prob want Parekh, if Demidov or Lindstrom are gone, Senneke or Eiserman is next and you could get them at 11

Parekh goes at the latest 7 to the Sens and the drop off from Parekh to Yakemchuk is quite steep imo

If Demidov and Lindstrom are gone, the drop off isnt worth reaching on someone at 5 when you can move down, get a piece that fits the current roster age and pick Senneke or Eiserman at 11

Sabres missing the playoffs is partly attributed to missing out on a Quinn breakout the way Peterka did. Moving him now does't really make any sense.
