Anaheim isn’t interested is paying marner what he wants on his next deal when we have to resign our entire young core the next 2 years

So trading a average ppg scorer that produces between 90 and 105 points per year and is only 4 years older than zegras where zegras produced what has been and ppg of between 55 and 65 points per year. That is a fair trade?

We really cannot express enough how we don't want to pay Marner $12 mil AAV.

Also why would Utah trade whom looked dto be their top pairing defenseman for a second/third pairing pairing dman in Liljegren and a still growing player in Robertson?

The hatred toward Marner and the contract is funny here. Most executives and coaches have said if they could get Marner whom is always right around 100 points a season and always in consideration for selke as a winger for 11.5 to 12 million they would.
That being said, I don't see Verbeek looking at it as worth it for him because he is still trying to figure out the future core at center and defense with his young players. Leo Carlsson looks to be a 1c, but he will want to be patient and see.
Thus any trade and Marner signing for them is too early to consider but I find it hard to believe that Verbeek would refuse a 3rd round pick and Zegras for Marner. I also find it hard to believe that Treliving would offer such a trade when he's already stated he is not trading Marner for the sake of cap space or a trade or anything. He will only trade Marner if he can properly improve their overall depth as a team and get a true top 2 defenseman. That what his priority for Nylander, he is not about to change t for Marner.

This team won’t even make playoffs. Trading Marner for zegras and a third is one of the most absolute absurd things I’ve ever seen in my life. Marner is a top 20 player in the league and a 100 point player. This guys gonna get MUCH more than that if they trade him. Patrick Kane is 35 years old, he’s not getting 3 mill. If he wants to come here I’d try to trade Kampf and give him what Kampf makes. Seen durzi is an okay d man but we need a game changing right shot d man. He’s definitely not that.

Marner would also come to Anaheim and instantly be the franchise player.

That would imply Marner is the kind of player you build a roster around, and he's shown over the length of his current contract, that is not the case. He's a support piece, and you don't build around support pieces, nor do you pay them record contracts.

Facts! Marner would go to Anaheim and be the franchise player instantly. The gap between him and there next best player would be massive. Everyone looks at his playoff failures and thinks he’s a bad player but he has 639 pts in 576 GP.

Last year he also had 14 point in 11 playoff games. Also among the core 4, Marner has the highest ppg in all playoffs combined! They are looking at this year and only this year where he is still hampered by a high ankle sprain.

the nerve to have anaheim adding.

I think Zegras is ridiculously overrated and this still stinks to me.

And why shouldn’t you build a team around a 100 point player that is very good defensively? You’re saying that because you’ve only seen him on the leafs where there are other players just as skilled as him. A change of scenery would be good for him and I garuntee he’d excel wherever he goes

Leo Carlsson

Don’t think he’ll turn out to be as good as Marner. As of right now Marner wouid be the best player by far on that team.
