Initial Creation Date: May 31, 2024

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
PHI adds 2025 5th to the trade, its about bringing in some semi developed dmen prospects, not just picks and having a better balance on d pairings.
On offense its about having some size/physicality on 3rd and 4th lines, having 2 (of Ostlund, Kulich, Savoiue, Rosen) arrive with capable vets who can help them develop AND produce.

Using forward depth to bring in mid level defensive prospects for both depth this yr and to improve prospect pool which is weak both in dpeth and with sizeable prospects. Both are late starters, both were 2nd round picks
Grans becomes 2nd best RD in system, intriguing mix of puck handling and size, 22 yrs old
Ginning is a solid big kid, stay at home but moves suprisingly well and good outlet passer, looked good in 9 NHL games last yr, just 2 yrs in NAmerica, 24 yrs old, 2nd best LD in system

I'm not worried about our prospect depth.

Dahlin, power, samuelsson are all locked up and are young, we traded for Byram, who is young, and have:

Johnson, novikov and komarov in AHL and strbak and mccarthy in college.

Sure, we can add to that list, but I don't want to give up on krebs. I think ruff will be good for him

Man, Kulich wasn't even a good center at the AHL level, and you want to put him on the fourth line with a defensive bully like Skinner. Something clearly went wrong here.

Is that a 3 year contract for a tweener and a 4 year contract for a barely functioning Matt Dumba I see

I just threw the 3 yrs at robinson, because I liked having the extra LW, but 1 yr is plenty and it could be someone else. I like the idea of a sizeable wing on 3rd line and one on 4th line. I like the idea of a balance of youth AND strong vets, and I like the depth that if theres injuries or someone not working out, people can easily move up lineup

As for Dumba, hes a minute eating, stay at home, physical, will drop gloves guy, that we dont need anything more out of than that. Hes a more talented/proven Clifton Connor that allows Power to roam the ice. Hes younger than Tanev, and we have no sizeable/physical stay at home dmen in organization. Theres 3 dmen who can lead rush/play PP, and Dumba is one of the younger/better defensive RD on the market. I like him because he isnt old, hes more physical, stronger vet than Jokiharju, and pretty set on providing that.

But if you like pesce, tanev etc... its that type of player BUF needs in their top 4 (IMO)

Eric Robinson is a tweener and doesn't play with the assertiveness that Adams has stated several times that he wants in his bottom 6. Get this guy out of here.

Dumba has been crumbling for years. Here's a guy Tampa has no interest in re-signing as a depth defensemen. He was already traded for a 5th round pick. You can't possibly give this guy a multi year deal, let alone 3+ million dollars in any of those years.

Look I'm not going to sit here and tell everyone they're signing Sam Reinhart and Chris Tanev or whatever. But the Sabres can and should do better than this.

He wasnt?

No, he wasn't very good as a center, he can score and get points, but he would be better off playing on the wing, he lacks many things for a center. Not to mention the NHL.

I doubt Buffalo accepts that but Krebs isn’t worth much anyways
