If Mika waived, NYR would want Vilardi and a prospect like Chibrikov or Lambert. Ehlers is a RW/LW and NYR would need a C too.

JT doesn’t waive for the Peg, pretty obvious I would have guessed.
Why would Leafs trade JT just to take back more salary 🤦🏻

2 defense for the same price, or Pionk plus buyout saving, or buyout both. Just money for Toronto.
Would give a few options depending on trade market and free agent market, cover some bases and spare Tavares that final year in Toronto.
I am not sure either fan base would love the trade but it is what it is. Older players that are more judged by there salary that what they bring on the ice at this point.

Maybe, I based that on Ekholm trade. Anderson is younger but never was as good as Ekholm. Both are always great value contracts.
