i dont think the wild can afford ehlers cap. they still got 1 more year of cap misery because of the suter and parise buyouts. they could certainly target him in free agency if he gets to the open market on 07/01/2025. just doesnt make sense to trade a kid with a year left on his ELC for a 6 mil rental forward when you need to be as efficient with the cap as possible. right value, wrong timing
