The only person Senators might trade Tkachuk for is a Matthews level player man

I'm not trading Quinn or Peterka for Tkachuk. Guy is way too overrated.

And terrible defensively & takes dumb penalties. He was 20th in goals & 41st in points.

When people are including Peterka or Quinn AND the 11th pick he's overrated.

8M is probably about fair value.

Sabres can't keep all of their forward prospects, if you have the opportunity to get a rare difference maker like Tkachuk you take it all day long

Damn the Sens must be pretty good with that "rare" difference maker

Peterka & Quinn aren't prospects either.

I never called them "rare" difference makers. That's what you called Brady. Why isn't he a rare difference maker for the Sens?

When you call someone a "rare" difference maker you're saying that they can carry a team. The only thing Tkachuk has carried the Sens to is bottom 10 finishes.

Noone carries teams in hockey, definition of a team sport closest you'll see is Edmonton right now and they won't win, I didn't say generational and what I'm saying is a rare style player who is difference maker if you need it spelled out

Then what does "rare" difference maker even mean? How else would you interpret that? They're "rare" difference makers but they don't have that much of a difference on the team winning games?

Or maybe you're just overrating him a bit? Which was exactly my point & you proved it for me. Brady is a good player. When people start calling him a "rare" difference maker & that he's worth all these great young players + high picks + blue chip prospects is when he becomes overrated.

I told you what I meant, Tkachuk is the only "blue chip" player in this trade, I would also hold on to Peterka and I'd also prefer swapping Kulich for Krebs. Either way you're going to have to give up more than you'd like to get him but he's a player who would be well worth it, especially once they're in the playoffs. I've said many time the Sabres have done well staying patient and building this team, but eventually they're going to have to make a move like this.

Neither Peterka/Quinn would ever be involved in a trade & there's a big difference between Kulich & Krebs. That completely changes the entire trade.

People say that about every big name player, but it doesn't happen. The team giving up the most will be the Sens.

"but eventually they're going to have to make a move like this."

They will make moves, but nothing like this trade. Trades like this aren't smart for the Sabres at all. They need their young cheap talented guys. Tkachuk wouldn't be traded to the Sabres anyways. He'd be traded to a team in the West.

" especially once they're in the playoffs."

He needs to not be completely terrible defensively to be a game changer in the playoffs. Good two way play is necessary to going far in the playoffs.
