Few things.. Detroit isn't trading Raymond for Demko with Cossa and Augustine in the pipeline.

Isles will decline that trade as Casey is 2.5 million cheaper with similar production to Ilya.

I will say this to you and everyone else. Trading a 25 year old 50 point dman that cost a 1st and 2nd round pick with no organizational depth behind him is dumb.

Replacing him with two guys who can't equal his point total combined for 5 million each with one of them being 35 in december is even dumber.

I'd be stunned if Lindholm signed for anything less then 6.5+.

Way too much money for Silovs. As well as he's played he has less then 20 games of NHL experience and doesn't have a lot of arb rights. He'll likely come in around a million bucks.

Holl can be bought out for cheap. Raymond can't be replaced. We have high level goaltending prospects in the system. Demko would be a nice add but this deal would make Detroit much worse.

Demko didn’t play vastly amount more games and got his 5x5 deal

Still have Kane they can resign short term and have the cap hit space for Stamkos or Reinhardt

Yeah neither of those players are guaranteed or are long term solutions. We keep Raymond.

Really???????

With Holl's buyout giving up a 3rd would be too much to move him.

If you think dumping Holl is going to cost Raymond maybe hockey isn't your sport.

Nobody's trading a Raymond level player for Demko, honestly. It's not even anything against Demko or an indictment of him as a goalie. Last time we saw anything of significance for a goalie was 9th for Schneider a decade ago, and it didn't really work out in NJD's favor.

Legitimate top of the line goalies are so hard to come by that a team that has one isn't willing to trade them. Goalies are also so wishy washy that nobody's ever really willing to pay significant value for them in a trade.

By the time Demko was given the starters job and his new contract he had nearly 200 pro games between Utica and the Canucks including the bubble performance.

Silovs has less then 100. So there is a significant difference between the experience of the two players. Also Demko's second contract which Silovs is about to get was for just over a million bucks.
