Canes pass. Necas is a 60-70 point winger. Rossi had 40 points. Minnesota probably don't have the assets for Necas

JEE is certainly something they Canes would want for Necas, but I doubt Minny does that

I know I know just saying it would be a player Carolina would be interested in because he said Min has no one that would interest the Hurricanes.

Necas has been over 60 points ONCE in his career. 2 of the past 3 years he had 53 or fewer points. I think if you're expecting people to value Necas like a 60-70 point player, you will be disappointed in any trade made in real life.

Regardless of what the Wild could offer Carolina, I don’t think they could give out the contract Necas would want, AAV-wise. The dead cap hamstrings them for one more year. I see them signing a David Perron or perhaps Patrick Kane on a one or two year deal to play with Rossi instead. Trade Gus to a needy team for a 2nd. Then they’ll decide what to do with Rossi next summer. It’s still a holding pattern in Minnesota.

Also, JEEk is the most off-limits player on the team.

This is beyond ridiculous! Wild aren’t trading eriksson ek’ me as doesn’t get eriksson ek in any capacity. There’s also a reason Carolina isn’t willing to keep/ pay him. Our gm is very much like Carolina in what he looks for

No disrespect, eriksson ek is beyond untouchable for wild! Necas doesn’t even get eriksson ek one for one.

IF, since Waddell has been open about wanting to retain the big three forwards.

And yes, teams will have to pay what the Canes ask. He hit 53 this year after missing 6 games, and went on to have 9 points this postseason in 11 games while playing on the third line. He's a 60-70 point player if used correctly. So, teams will pay for it.

Whelp, take Minnesota out of the equation due to unreasonable ask. Good day.

Just because a gm ask something doesn’t mean other teams have to pay it. Unlike here, GM’s negotiate and find middle ground

While true, it does with an RFA. Either that or take the risk with an offer sheet where the picks can't be protected... your choice

I think Minnesota would prefer to trade a 2025 1st+2nd+3rd (offersheet comp) instead of Rossi. We are unlikely to be hit with injuries as bad as we were this past year. Plus, with Necas/Ohgren/Heidt, we would have the depth to overcome some injuries that we just couldn’t last year.

Canes fans are the ones harping for a 2C, which is why Rossi was offered.

1st 2nd 3rd gets you up to 8-ish. Carolina simply can match it. Rossi isn't a 2C, so it doesn't do anything. You want to risk 2 1sts, 2nd and a 3rd? Go for it. Still doesn't mean you'll get him. And none of this matters anyway if the Canes take him to arbitration, which takes away his offer sheet eligibility

You’d match at 8? Seems like overpayment on cap hit. Necas sounds like he’s not worth the cap hit or the trade return and should be avoided.

Rossi is definitely a 2C. He’s like a mini Eriksson Ek already in his draft+4 season. Keep in mind, Ek in his D+4 season had 7+7 in 58 games.

I just think it’s comical you undervalue Rossi at 22, but inflate what Necas is at 25.

Necas is someone that in any other system, crushes 80 points. He's easily the player Brind'amours system strangles the most, but it does that across the board. Rossi had 40 points, great, fair enough, does not make him suddenly worth the Canes best player from this postseason

I would appreciate if the excuse making stopped.

I didn’t ask about Aho.

Necas was literally better this postseason than Aho was... so you just showed you didn't watch a single game, and are trying to go off the fact Aho had 12 points where Necas had despite Necas playing with Drury and Martinook while Aho played with Guentzel and Svechnikov...

First off, if you're basing value just on the postseason then you’re lost.

Aho had a decent amount more even strength points while playing a tougher position. I’ll take Aho any day over Necas.

As I said, Necas was the Canes best POSTSEASON performer, if you can't read, this conversation needs to end, but I do think you are smart enough to have mastered that.

Aho's better in terms of production, but Necas is easily the more talented. That raw speed in any other system would have him in the same realm as someone like a Larkin

Sounds like you should hire a new coach and offer Necas $10M AAV. Otherwise, your points make no sense. Roundabout and contradictory.
