it's the system. Need to go away from the point generated offense eventually if the Canes ever want to win anything

their real problem is they don't have a franchise level forward.
Say what you will, but odds of winning without one is low.
Panarin had his impact on this series. Hard to chase him around and still deal with the rest of the team.
Until the Canes can do the same, they will have the same fate.
It's year after year with them. Deep but deep doesn't win. You need the high end franchise guy.

yeah, no.

He is and was the most dangerous guy with the puck and the guy who draws the most attention.

You can try to knock it however you want. But you don't have a similar guy.
All stats show to have a legit chance of competing you need that guy. Otherwise you got a much lower rate of success.
