If we wanted Marner it'd be for picks and prospects. Adding Marner is a win now move, trading 3 of our best players isn't trying to win now.

The Marner extension doesn't make it win now. And the Flames probably need to reset

A team doesn't trade for 2 or 3 years of someones prime unless they think they're in win now mode.

Hehe, Leafs fans really want to see Marner in CGY. Unfortunately, we just don't seem like a good partner, at the beginning of our rebuild.

The trade itself favors you guys heavily.

It's funny, it started off as Marstrom and Andersson for Marner, Liljgren, robertson and minten. Then minten disappeared, then robertson disappeared. And now they're starting to add guys like weegar, sharongovich, mangiapane and Coleman coming back while offering less.

So pessimistic! Mitch is only 27, and this might be his prime but you'll get more than 2 or 3 years out of him!

I honestly haven't seen the other trades, I made this one off the top of my head without influence. Big Andersson fan!

If the Flames could get Marner to sign here long term they’d wait until he hits UFA. We’re the last team that needs to be trading assets.
