next season

Created by: DJPaulyB
Team: 2024-25 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: May 10, 2024
Published: May 10, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Ivan Demidov picked at 5. Sign Talbot to bring veteran (french) presence with Montembeault. (Ill be honest I dont believe in primeau longterm or even short term)

These moves would make our team decent in 24/25. Enough to build in 25/26 and become serious contenders, with a lot of cap space, amazing prospects would be coming in. Demidov, sennecke, Reinbacher and Beck come in 25/26. Savard, Armia, Dvorak, RHP and potentially Evans all off the books

1.
MTL
Lost on waivers / Habs would like to keep him as a 7/8 D but Mailloux is undeniable at camp and another team needs defensive depth.

    1. 2025 2nd round pick (PHI)
    Additional Details:
Habs let Primeau go play for his fathers old team because they don't believe in him long term and get a UFA goalie to split start with Montembeault

Bedard is barely 5/10. They may not want another under sized guy if lindstrom or a big defender is there, GMs tend to lean more on size vs skill at times. Not saying its not possible they draft demidov. i just think the conversation in the room will be "is our team too small with those two core players"

I can't see Detroit moving back, if they trade the pick it's probably for an NHL ready piece that can help sooner

You could take the first out going to Montreal from Ottawa and Ottawa still says no.

No. They don't consider that at all. Ylonen has no value and Barron isn't worth much to them. They can likely grab was better option for RHD in the future with that pick.

Not gonna happen, they have a list of guys here that help them. Not worth it for them to move back so far. Gonna take more then this.

Wouldn't be surprised if Columbus took him as Fantilli's winger. With KJ having a drop off, it wouldn't surprise me if they get a little too excited about Demidov even if their needs warrant a stronger D-man(they also have Werenski and Severson tied up for a WHILE). Basically, trying not to get my hopes up😭

Between Marchenko, Chinakhov, Gaudreau, Voronkov, Laine, Brindley and Johnson how many more wingers does Fantilli need?

Flyers are gonna run Errson and Fedotov next season with Kolosov in the AHL. No reason to give up a second for a goalie they don't need.
