Andersson is more valuable to CGY than Marner would be

Markstrom had a 0.500 point percentage(23-23-2) on the season.

Without Markstrom te Flames were 1 game below .500.

He was playing the tougher matchups as a whole and he played great for most of the season, but Marner is definitely worth more.

The Flames would be a bit foolish to go after Marner, but that's another story.

Marner isn't worth much to anyone without an extension. He isn't even worth much as a rental unless he comes with 50% retention. As a rental with 50% retention he's worth a late 1st + B prospect or thereabouts. If Toronto doesn't want to retain then they'll have to involve a 3rd team so Toronto won't even wind up with that much.

In the end it's more like BB either loses Marner for nothing a year from now ala little johnny or Marner gets significantly overpaid again which BB desperately wanted to do with little johnny. Thank god Calgary finally got rid of BB in spite of ownership being stupid enough to want to extend him again.
