Well, Askarov is as good of a rookie goalie as you’re gonna get (and Saros is that good).

The player Nashville probably isn’t giving up is Novak. Just re-signed to a 3-year deal.

Like Marner, Saros is also on the last year of his contract and if they don't resign him at the end of the year they get nothing.
There are whispers they may not want to re-sign him to a big contract because they think Askarov is the future. So trading Saros could make sense for them.

Extensions would have to be place on both ufas before this deal could happen. Of marner is looking for any kind of raise I don’t think Nashville does this l. But if he takes the same kind of contract but for 8 years if I’m trotz I would do it and sign lankinen for a few years until askarov is ready to take over.
