There's a universe where the deal is just Tavares for a conditional 4th in 2033 or something as a straight cap dump for Toronto and to kick off the Real Good Pro era for San Jose

Celebrini hell yeah!
Do we really want Tavares?
Is Lilly really an upgrade over Ferraro?
Like that Dillon signing.

He costs 11m - I’ve said it elsewhere but Karlsson at 10m (retained by SJS) - after a norris and 100 points still required retention, San Jose to take on 9.5m back in 1 cap dump and 1 player a team didn’t want anymore (cap dump as well). And required another contract to be dumped on another team.

It has nothing to do with JT as a player. It’s purely cap.

You could argue the Sharks are the only team in the league that can take on JT.
