Meh, nothing there for Marino that can't wait a year when he has presumably had a bounce back and the UFA class is much weaker

Marino is the type of dude we want, that's exactly why I can't see NJD trading him. Lock down and he plays the right side.

Edit: I'm with you on Perfetti tho, if we go all in this season then fk it.

Why? He's a good defenseman. I would personally pick Parehk between the 2 but it could go either way

I agree he would pair next to perfectly with Chych or Chabby, but he also likely won’t be available. But I think Yakem would be a Jake Sanderson type of D man, with an added bonus of being RD.

I’m just not high on the archetype of player. defenceman who relies on carrying the puck in himself and scoring off the rush, and whose primary defensive abilities lie solely in hitting instead of actual sound defensive play. I just don’t care for his player type. typically the type that become good but not great, and don’t do a whole lot to make their teammates better

Yakem at like 12-15 would be awesome, at #7 I'm not down. We already have Sandy and Chabby to produce offense on defense.

Yakemchuk is an offensive defence man, so I don’t see the fit in Ottawa, as wasn’t that the main issue, not having enough guys playing actual defence? I like Yakemchuk, but Parekh would be the better option for Ottawa if they want a RHD imo.

You wouldn't be drafting him for his offense. You would get him for his defensive and physical play, offensively it's most just his shot. He reminds me of Pulock

I feel like Parekh will go at 3 or 6

I'd rather just take Catton, or Iginla.

To each their own, I don't think they need a forward though

Hmm, he very well could, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he dropped to 7OA. We will see… have a great one!

We don't but we also have one of the worst prospect pools in the NHL so we should be taking BPA and not need.

eh, BPA every single time and I don’t see any world where Yakemchuk shows himself to be the BPA at 7thOA. I’d pretty quickly take all of Buium, Parekh, Iginla, Helenius, and Dickinson over him

then I would take Dickinson if he's still available. He's pretty much a guaranteed top 4 defenseman that will range between Hanfin and Slavin caliber as a #2

That's honestly who I want but I know most Sens fans really want Parekh lol.

I'm not arguing that, like I said above I think they should take Paraekh at #7 but I think Dickinson will be BPA. Catton is high risk high reward

A more experienced group on D will help a lot. Marino is absolutely needed in NJD for at least 1 more year. It would have to blow me away to move him now. Next year tho, I could very much see him on the market

I feel like he's a lock to be a stud and I'd feel very good if Staios went that direction lol. Yakem and Parekh are both so boom or bust imo and Dickinson still has boom potential but very low bust potential.

I hope he doesn't because when Calgary's pick comes around if Iginla isn't still available Yakemchuck is the guy I'd want them to pick. If Iginla is still there too then it'd be a tough choice for me between the two of them.
