Kuemper deal is too long for the hawks to have any interest. They probably would have interest in Ryan Chesley tho.

Hawks decline. A 3rd isn't enough to take on those contracts.

Look Chicago doesn’t mind absorbing bad contracts but they need to compensated fairly to do so. A 3rd round pick for 3 x $4.25m per for Kuemper and one season of Bear at $2.1m is no where close to enough.

That is not remotely close to getting Zegras. Not by a country mile. We'll give you Ryan Strome for that offer.

If I'm reading this correctly it's:
WSH gets Marner -- gives up 24 1st, 25 2nd, 26 2nd, 24 3rd, Suzdalev, TVR
TOR gets Pietrangelo, signing rights to Stevenson (which mean very little since he's a UFA) -- gives up Marner and Robertson
VGK gets Robertson, TVR, Suzdalev, 25 2nd -- gives up Pietrangelo, signing rights to Stevenson

And I assume 24 1st going to VGK even though it's to the leafs in the trade in the post.

I do like the idea even if its very out there but for VGK to not just do a Pietrangelo for Marner straight swap I think they would need something more substantial from Washington, especially since they have proven time and again they will move future picks for established players.

Why would Verbeek even entertain this deal? If he doesn’t hear Leonard after hearing a Zegras proposal, he probably just hangs up
