I'd love one leaf fan to actually look at the flames roster before deciding we want Jarnkrok

Wild decline. What you have here is six years of Boldy at 7 million, a potential starting goalie and a 2nd round pick for one year of Marner at 10 million and a pile of stuff.

You'd have to pay someone to take Kampf, and it's not going to be Buffalo

If the Flames have/manage to move out 3-4 top 9 wingers in the offseason then sure.

We have Sharangovich, Kuzmenko, Mangiapane, and Coleman, as guys we'd need to trade before considering such a trade.

Wingers I expect to play for the Flames in the top 9 next season: Huberdeau, Pospisil, Zary(unless he moves to C),Coronato, and maybe Pelletier.

Don't think you'd have to pay someone to take on Kampf lol. He's a good defensive centre that will put up 20-25 points a year. His deal isn't great, but don't forget your 4th line centre can't stay healthy and make 2 million. Who puts up the same amount of points and is terrible at faceoffs.

That is fair, if some of those things happen I could maybe see the trade going through.

Whos that? Krebs aint making 2 mill. They can get the same production out of UFAs with much better contracts or bring up Kulich

Would you trade marner for boldy straight up? I don't see the wild's use for Gustavsonn, they signed fleury's extension and wallstead is ready to be in the nhl. So i'd say Gustavsonn and a second for liligjren and a third is pretty close in value. With more ice time and a different system lilijgren could be a potential breakout canidate to be a true top 4 dman.

Jost, and what ufa's would you think would fit better and i don't know if playing Kulich at 4c would be very good for his development.

I wouldn't. Boldy is cheaper and already locked up long-term. He is younger and bigger than Marner. Both score about 30 goals a year, give or take a few. Boldy still has room to grow.

The 20 or so assists Marner produced more than Boldy really aren't worth giving all that up.

Also, just because the Wild wouldn't have a "need" for Gustavsson, doesn't mean that they would just give him to the first one asking. Gustavsson's value is around a mid 2nd round pick.

No. Boldy is signed long-term to a deal that's looking better and better as he gets more experience. Marner is a UFA in a year and his extension will certainly look close to what he's making now, that seems like poor cap management for a team that will need to figure out Faber's extension as well as Kaprizov's soon enough.

I really like the idea of sending Gus to NJ to swap 1st round picks if there's someone at pick #10 the Wild really like. Value is probably about right for what picks typically go for in trade-up situations like that.
