I can't see the Bruins trading Geekie, he's a great value signing and Kalrsson may have had a "bounce back" year, but he's on the wrong side of 30. The Bruins have been an "old team" for a decade, they need to get younger.
Ericsson Ek is too good a deal for the Wild to trade for any package.

You get a legit two way center in Karlsson.

Love Geekie but with one year left on the contract with him Freddy, and Marchy due contracts during same year...one would have to go IMO

Ericsson Ek would obviously be a pipe dream but you would have to say that gets them at least thinking about moving him

There is absolutely NO way the bruins would trade J.E.E for Poitras even 1 for 1. And throwing a 1st rounder, 3rd and 4th rounder aswell as Merkulov is just mental. J.E.E is already 27, never has been PPG meanwhile Poitras is 20 with a much better potential which he proved in his first year. Probably wouldve been on pace for around 50 points (only 10less than J.E.E.) in his first season. Also think youre gettin way too little for Ullmark.

Joel Eriksson Ek would be an excellent fit in Boston but I can't see either Guerin or Sweeney making this deal
Poitras is too valuable to the Bruins and his potential ceiling does seem higher than JEE

No disrespect but even as a Bruins homer, this is a crazy take. Eriksson Ek is a tremendous talent and has way more raw tools than Poitras. I hope I'm wrong but no way do I see Poitras as a line driving 1C which Eriksson Ek already is.

Boston is going to tweak around their core … not dismantle it around it. Minnesota isn’t trading Eck and Sweeney likely isn’t making that offer because what’s the point? Make an offer the other team is going to reject.

I also think if we acquire the right free agent center that Poitras can develop into our number 2 center long term.

With regards to the Ullmark deal, i do not believe Sweeney covets # of picks. To be honest, I think he views late 2nd and 3rd rounders as flyers. He readily gave up a 3rd for Andrew Peeke for his physical skill set even though Columbus fans were ready to cut him,

He seems to go out of his way to reach for players with better physical skills and without the pedigree as if he believes that is an undervalued sector. It’s like he’s almost going out of his way to get a bad draft review because he realizes the hit rate on lower picks is ridiculously low and the draft past 15 is a complete crap shoot.

I see Mason Lohrei at Ohio State and go maybe he knew something we didn’t when draft gurus slammed him for selecting a 5th round grade in the second round. The kid looks like an easy top 4 defenseman even with the rawness.

I watch Chris Pelosi at Sioux Falls and believe Rand Pecknold is going to develop that kid into an all American in the next two years at Quinnipiac. I hated the pick until I watched him and went why am I trusting the draft judgment of an aggregator.

I get 2015 happened, but I also acknowledge that Sweeney took over weeks before that draft and had to depend on scouts he later replaced.

Geekie is an RFA at the end of his deal. Moving him is a really bad idea, though I would like Karlsson
Again, priotizing Maroon over Heinen is a ridiculously bad concept.

Check yourself, that package gets guys like Hertl. Ek is not world class even playing with a guy as talented as Kaprizov

Hertl is older, on a more expensive deal and worse defensively. Hertl also was a deadline deal from a bottom-dwelling team unlike JEEK here.
