Hopeful plans for the future part 3

Created by: Rob32sjsharks
Team: 2025-26 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: May 2, 2024
Published: May 5, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Building on part 1, sharks are facing another draft where they need luck and help to speed up the rebuild.

24 Draft:
1st OA Macklin Celebrini LHC
14th OA Cole Eiserman LW
33rd OA Dominik Badinka RD
42nd OA Jesse Pulkkinen LD
85th OA Carter George G

24 draft added skill up front and grit and size on the back end. 24/25 TDL loads up their 25&26 draft picks, Now we look at the 25 draft.
With any luck Vegas has a down year juggling cap crunch and injuries and misses the playoffs, sharks finish 30th in the NHL and stay at 3rd OA after the Lottery
25 Draft:
3rd OA Logan Hensler RD
15th OA Jordan Gavin RW
35th OA Pyotr Andreyanov G

Sharks now have solid prospect depth at every position and with cap surplus will have the the opportunity to be aggressive in FA. Sharks need a good G to bridge the gap till they can develop a young netminder, and while Saros is 30 at the 25 FA period, a 5/6 year deal for around 8 mill might tempt him. a short term C to help with the gradual transition of Smith and Celebrini from wings to C. And Granlund coming back would be perfect.
With so many developing prospects with high ceilings sharks opt to avoid any long expensive FA deals. 1-2 short term (1-2 years) is reasonable but nothing more.

Sharks still won’t be a playoff team but will be headed in a good direction.

I don't think eiserman will drop that far, but there should still be some good winger prospects around there. I also think Debrusk is going to end up in Edmonton, but I like your vision overall.

I’ve seen a lot of Eiserman Hate and a lot of rankings dropping him! And no one thought Musty was going to be there at 26 either!
Personally I want Parekh, Yakemchuk, or Jiricek at that spot… but it’s hard to pass on Eiserman’s shot.

Yeah other then #1 the draft boards are all over the place this year. Thinking about it I guess it could be possible, there's probably about 6-8D that could realistically be taken before him.

For Wing, what about Cardwell, he had 23 goals for Cuda this year?

He will be a solid bottom 6 RW for us not sure when he makes the sharks though or who’s spot he would take!
