Why would we blow it up? We just made the playoffs after expecting to miss them and Forsberg is our best forward on a great contract

NSH declines, and I don't imagine Forsberg waives for BUF (going to a non-playoff team, going from a no state tax state to a very high one, his country singer wife presumably would prefer to stay in NSH).

Can't complain about the return though. If NSH did blow it up and Forsberg wanted out, I'd be more than happy with those pieces.

Don't think another long term contract on a middle pairing defenseman is something the Blues should explore until they figure out the top end of their defense. Leddy has been serviceable but is not a #2. Parayko is more ideally a high end #2 due to his average puck moving instead of high end.

Getting at minimum a #2 guy on the left side should slide everyone into place. Getting a 2nd pairing guy to just throw more guys into a smorgasbord with term probably isn't a great idea.
