Marner is so much better and more valuable than Huberdeau that it’s not even funny. I can agree that TOR may get about 75 cents on the dollar in a Marner trade, but Huberdeau is closer to a nickel on the dollar.

Why in the world this is considered as hate against Marner? Both contracts are bad, but Huberdeau can be a 100pts with this team.

Hubby is a great passer and two-way guy. Both him and Marner are softies, but at least you get a huge shake-up and build around Keller and Nylander.

individuality is a thing in life, but when it comes to sport you need team chemistry, sometime you lose on trade value, but wins it in the big picture.

Calgary accepts. Then flips Marner with 50% retained at the deadline to one of Toronto's divisional rivals for a 1st+.

Cause HUBY is the worst contract in the league. He's locked up long term at 11 million dollars, he hasn't scored more than 15 goals the past 2 years, is barely breaking 50 points and is just terrible defensively. It's going to cost 2-3 1st round picks to dump him. Marner on the other hand is a 110+ point player, still young, elite defensively and can be signed to a new deal this summer. He's worth around 3 1sts.

There is a 5 1st round pick difference between the two.

Do u know that Marner is a problem for the Leafs or that Huberdeau has any value?
