Makes no sense for New Jersey.

I'd do this as Calgary in a heartbeat. They'd be getting a really good player with that 10th overall pick.

On a 3 year deal (Palat's remaining contract), I would probably offer him 4 mill. So that is -6 mill in value total
On a 7 year deal (Huberdeau's remaining contract), I would probably offer him 5 mill. So that is -38.5 mill in value total.

Make it all of calgary's 1st round picks over the next 3 years

I misread that, I thought it was Calgary's 1st going to Jersey. The other way around makes it closer.

I don't see a need for New Jersey to swap players like that, plus, yeah that 10th OA is going to be a solid player versus a 2026 probably mid-late 1st.. the Devils shouldn't need more offence with Hughes, Bratt, Hischier, Meier, Mercer and Holtz up front (the latter two of which should boost their production). Palat has the Stanley Cup pedigree as well, very useful for a team of youngsters trying to make their way in hopefully another playoff year in 2024-25.
