Winnipeg isn't giving up that pick and retaining to move Schmidt.

I don’t get why we would move up to 19 honestly

What would Edmonton’s 1st & Gibby come out to?

Cheaper than a buyout (for two years).

It has often taken a 1st to move a year of ~$6m (Marleau, Monahan, etc). And 2nd plus for cap hits closer to $5m (Stralman, Zaitsev, Ladd, Johnson, Nemeth, etc).

Early 2nd probably. If they eat cap, there is probably profit to be made….but selling now = Mrazek comp.

Not really. All 2nds aren't created equal and this one is basically a first. Way too much for $4.5 of cap for a year and then the Jets don't draft until the 4th round.

The buyout option is far cheaper.

Don't think the math on that works out to give up a 2nd to move up 5 spots to 19. Typically around 20 or so it's just a crapshoot who hits.

All dependent on how draft goes…would have to be a guy Ducks like at 19 that likely won’t be around at 24.

The Blues are NOT paying their 24 2nd (or anything, really) for Foote. Go back to the last trade you had.

Who cares about Foote here. They’re moving up to 10. They would do this

It probably depends more on who is there/not there at #10…moreso than taking a risk Foote’s health.

I cate about paying a middle 24 2nd for him, as should you. His previous iterations were very acceptable. This one goes too far.

Note it’s Nolan Foote, not Cal.

He’s getting rid of Hayes and paying a 2nd and 3rd to move up to 10 overall….again - who cares about Foote

I'm well aware.

Nah. This is exactly the STL 2nd for Foote beyond the trade you had right before this one. Like maybe one page later. Go back to that one, this one is asking too much. And even if it's how you described, you left that 2x1.75 retention out of the equation. The Blues are NOT paying for Foote. Serves no purpose whatsoever. You keep adding and adding and adding. That's not gonna work.

Dude. The AGM he had right before this one was exactly this trade minus an extra 24 2nd for Foote added on. We are not paying anything for Foote, let alone a 24 2nd we still need.

It’s just for variety…don’t want to send same trade each time. I think I have done #10/#16+2nd and #10/#16+2025 2nd+4th before too.

Will never be “that guy” who posts exact same ACGM over and over.

I get that, but those that annoy generally are the wholly unrealistic trades that get posted ad nauseum despite all criticism. If you have one everybody agrees on, I'd just run with it.

But anyway... yeah, I think it's safe to remove Foote for a 2nd from any future iterations.
