That buch trade seems kinda rough and I think nj is more likely the trade partner than Calgary to move up

I really don't see Detroit targeting a more expensive goalie, we likely just bide our time for Cossa.

Pass, though I do think Binnington fetches that (or more), I'd rather Detroit not buy a goalie considering Cossa and Augustine have looked pretty damn good.

What's the anticipated timeline on Cossa? I've heard he's been great this year.

Better save pct than Wallstedt and Askarov. Probably get a few games next season and hopefully back up duties 25/26 season.

I figured as much and that's why I thought Binnington might be a fit in DET if the Blues were to part (extremely unlikely). The timeline of his contract expiring and Cossa getting reps and taking over as #1 seem to go hand-in-hand.

Calgary won't be trading that pick to move down.

That makes sense, what doesn't is paying a first for a goalie. Binnington would get just as lit up as Lyon and Husso did. Defense and defensive play need to be addressed first. Depending on a few things, that pick might be another lottery pick next season. We aren't in at a place in our rebuild where it makes sense to be spending firsts on players yet. Few more years still for that.

Sounds like DET has the same issues as the Blues tears of joy . Binner is arguably the reason STL isn't picking in the top-10 this year.
