Doing All 32 Teams Realistic Offseasons Habs

Description
This is team #17 of the series, and I’m going to put a bit more thought into each build (its hard enough doing every team when you follow one team). I personally think if the habs were to push to be competitive (they said they do) this is what id do. If you like this series let me know your thoughts!

one must surely think Lundell is worth more than that... right?

i forgot to half retain Dvorak but him + a young Harris at a low aav i feel like is a sway for flordia. theyre gonna want nhl players for cheap with limited money and yes i think other teams can offer better picks and what not but i feel like they go players > picks here

Definitely, trading him for Dvorak makes 0 sense, they could bridge him for cheaper

Mtl isn’t spending this much for Necas. They won’t trade Mailloux away after the season he just got. Necas is not even a top line winger.

I think that the cap problem Carolina faces is exaggerated.

Florida will get a first-round draft pick plus a more useful player than Dvorak or Harris for Anton Lundell.

Harris might be exactly the kind of players Florida would want. He is the more NHL reliable at this instant and for a cup contending team who don’t have room to develop players Harris could fit in right away in the top 6 and provide instant help at low cost. Jake Evans could be added along with the Jets first.

They lose a lot of good players in that ACGM. If the right offer comes along I think I'd try to resign Turbo and flip Necas.

Maybe Harris could help Florida, but they could probably get him for a 3rd round pick, lundell is way more valuable.

Problem is not Lundell play but cap space. Lundell on a bridge deal will be at least between 3-3.5 millions for 2 season. Florida have Montour, Reinhart, Bennet and Verhaege to resign the next 2 season along with 10 roster spot to fill. In my opinion Florida have a better chance at the cup in the next couple season with all these four players than with Lundell

Lundells already playing 2C with Bennetts injury, let him walk and keep the young guy who's going to be around longer.

Florida is a thru cup contender, they don’t want to have a players who will be around longer. They want to win the cup. Colorado traded Newhook for this exact purpose. They wanted a players that was more NHL reliable but who have definitely a lesser ceiling.

There is no sense in trading Lundell. He is playing at such a high level. With Bennett's injury, the Tkachuck-Lundell-Verhaeghe is a top3 line in the playoffs controlling over 70% of the expected goals.

If they can't make the cap work with Reinhart, Montour, etc, it would make more sense to trade Bennett since he is making more, is probably out the door in 2025 anyway, and looks like is going to slide into a lesser role. Plus this return is way too low.
