You're trading for Ovi and Wilson and somehow a 1st round pick isn't involved?

It was hard to value those two and I doubt Chicago gives a lottery pick but ya that Leaf 1st instead of one of the seconds…sure.

Chicago has no need for Wilson and his albatross contract that is already one of the worst in the league. There are other ways KD could/should build this team like acquiring RFAs in need of a change of scenery or buying low on someone who underperformed in a difficult situation. This isn't it. Wilson is 30, Ovi is basically coasting to 895, there's no need to even consider this.

Except for it’s an insanely lucrative marketing scheme and well pure entertainment..

This is just fantasy, ya know?

Shouldn't be too hard to evaluate. One is the best goal scorer of all time and the other is one of the most sought after power forwards in the game. It would most certainly take a lottery pick to get both. This is just three 4th liners, two mid to late 2nd round picks, and a good D prospect. That alone wouldn't even get you 1 of them.

Davidson is committed to rebuilding the right way . IE not giving up picks & prospects for a 30 year old & a 38 year old that looked like he couldn’t even move his legs in the playoffs. Caps can grab Raddysh in free agency if they want him though, he should be available.

Oh! Wow! I didn't even realize Wilson had an extension in place. That is awful. WSH would need to pay CHI to take it, for sure.

lol. I guess when you put it that way... still a no. If you watch the video of that hit, it was just a freak occurence. Smith didn't do anything that any player wouldn't do. He literally was just there and Bedsy smashed his face into him. What is anyone gonna do about that? Bedsy just needs to be smarter and learn to protect himself better, that's all.

I think Ovechkin could play well into his 40s as a PP specialist.

    ... He's still not hitting 1,000 lol.

Sadly, he could've and probably would've if not for ~150 games lost due to lockouts and COVID.

I agree and apologize...that broken jaw was a poor reference. This post is just fantasy fun...what I should do in the future is just leave what Chicago gives blank...I had some say it takes a lottery pick to get those two and others say they are both 100% cap dumps. I think it is not a lot but also something.

Getting Ovi has some hockey value in that he was a great leader or maybe he would be a distraction. But as we lead up to 895 the media attention around that will be huge. So getting him is a huge money making marketing scheme.

Ya he more likely gets another 100 in the KHL than the NHL...I think he gets close to 895 around the TDL IF he is traded or the Caps get him at least a Domi if not a Marner...

No need to apologize. I thought it was funny, too. haha.

And, yeah, I see the marketing perspective of it, but that Wilson extension is just awful, IMHO. Both players are in massive decline, and, even if WSH were willing to pay to move Wilson, judging from this seasons exit interviews, it doesn't sound like CHI will be in the business of taking on cap for assets any more. They have a ton of picks and prospects, and a roster that needs to start seeing incremental improvements, not saddling themselves with contracts that could make their cap situation very difficult in a couple years. Ovi is fine because he is expiring soon, but Wilson could become a real problem very quickly.

Ya I agree...I think Utah is more likely to want to pull a marketing stunt like this? I did a similar post for Toronto and Utah but ya Chicago doesn't need more media attention for sure. not sure if it was you or someone else...but I saw that Kane is rumored to be coming back...thoughts?
