Trades
1.
NJD
  1. Askarov, Yaroslav
  2. Pärssinen, Juuso [RFA Rights]
  3. 2024 1st round pick (NSH)
Additional Details:
Nashville sends #24

Nashville presumably gets Casey and a defenseman or center at 10 they covet
NSH
  1. Casey, Seamus [Reserve List]
  2. 2024 1st round pick (NJD)
Additional Details:
NJ sends #10

I’m high on Askarov but this is still a gamble. Casey is a terrific prospect that unfortunately has no spot on the big squad for the foreseeable future
2.
NJD
  1. Pinto, Shane [RFA Rights]
  2. 2024 1st round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
Ottawa sends #27

Pinto up for contract makes him an interesting option for NJ. I would imagine if Ottawa really liked him they would’ve already inked an extension
OTT
  1. Holtz, Alexander
  2. Schmid, Akira [RFA Rights]
  3. 2024 1st round pick (NSH)
Additional Details:
Devils send #22

Devils are looking for a Right Handed Center. Holtz just needs a fresh start, devils handling of him has been woeful, he really is going to be good find for whoever they deal him to. Got no opportunity or support in NJ

Sens aren’t moving Pinto. A 6+ term deal is coming

Pinto's not available. both team and player have already expressed interest in a long-term deal. the offseason has hardly even started yet, there's no "wow how haven't they signed him yet"

Too much from NSH. Askarov should be worth more than NJ's 1st. He was drafted essentially in that same spot (11OA), has met/exceeded expectations since leaving Russia, and will contribute to his NHL team long before a 2024 pick will.

I like Casey, but NSH's 1st and Pärssinen is way too much for him.

I legit wouldn’t even trade Pinto for the 10th overall. He’s legit a really really good 2 way centre . Idk how high his offensive ceiling will get to but he’s shown both the ability to score the puck last year and playmake this year .

Personally, i think the value is about even.... BUT id rather have Askarov than Saros in Nashville so that automatically kills the trade for me anyways. I personally think Parssinen is gonna top out as a Sissons replacement and i really like Casey.

Also with how Daws and Schmid has stuggled in New Jersey, i dont think theyd gamble on another unknown NHL quantity.

Back out all of the extras and 10th OA for Y.A. I saw what you said but the guy has 3 NHL games and 48 AHL games played. And yes you're going on what he might be but there is no history that says he's going to be Shesty or Vasy. Sure you want an add to feel like the guy you develop has more value, we can do that. Its just not a Holtz, Mercer type player. I know what the reply will be, but hey a 10th OA is not worth nothing.

No, obviously 10OA isn't nothing. Is it not less of a sure thing than Askarov though? There's no telling who'll be available at that spot, and how whoever gets picked at that spot develops is a bigger unknown than Askarov is now.

Like @herzausstein, I think NSH should move on from Saros and keep Askarov. I'm not interested in this proposal overall (even though I'd love to have Casey), so maybe I'm biased. I do think the value is considerably tilted in NJ's favour though.

All seem between plausible and optimistic, especially if NSH extends Saros.

Stamkos a longer shot probably.
